Anita Zheng recieved her MFA degree at Maryland Institute College of Art, She focusing on Photographic & Electronic Media with a concentration in Critical Studies as well. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Cinematography, from the Communication University of China in Beijing. She worked as a free-lance cinematographer for commercials and documentaries before enrolling in her MFA Program.
Her work deals with a variety of subjects, with an emphasis on the concepts of Buddhist Philosophy, such as Karma, Samsara and Sunyata. Interpreting the abstruse and abstract conceptions of Buddhism in visual ways are what she is exploring artistically in her graduate program.
